The Milwaukee 49-94-5000 is a 5 in. x .045 in. x 7/8 in. Type 1 Cut-Off Wheel for use with 5 in. angle grinders — a thin-profile abrasive cutting wheel for fast, precise cut-off operations on steel, stainless steel, and ferrous metal in the intermediate grinder format between the compact 4-1/2 in. and the large 6 in. and 7 in. platforms. The 5 in. diameter provides more cutting depth than 4-1/2 in. cut-off wheels for larger-diameter conduit and pipe that require the additional depth to complete a clean cut in a single pass, while remaining more compact and lighter than the larger 6 in. format for the applications where 5 in. grinder maneuverability is practical. The .045 in. ultra-thin wheel profile minimizes kerf width for reduced material waste, lower cutting resistance for faster cutting speed, and less heat input per cut compared to thicker abrasive cut-off wheels.
