Product Description
Milwaukee 7 in. x 1/4 in. x 7/8 in. Metal Grinding Wheel - Type 27 (10-Pack)
Model Number: 49-94-0533
The Milwaukee 49-94-0533 is a 10-pack of 7 in. x 1/4 in. x 7/8 in. Metal Grinding Wheels in the Type 27 depressed-center profile, built for long life and fast material removal in metal and stainless steel. At 7 in., this is the largest wheel in Milwaukee's metal grinding line, giving the most abrasive surface and the most reach of any size in the range, which makes it the choice for large-bodied 7 in. angle grinders and for taking down big weldments, thick plate, and long structural runs where a smaller wheel needs too many passes. This is a grinding wheel, not a cut-off wheel: the thick 1/4 in. body and the depressed-center Type 27 shape are made to remove material with the face of the wheel, grinding welds flat, knocking off flash and burrs, beveling and prepping edges, dressing cut ends, and stripping rust, scale, and coatings. The offset hub lets the wheel work into the surface at a proper grinding angle while keeping the grinder body clear. Each wheel combines resin bonding agents with aluminum oxide grain for smooth, controlled removal, and carries three full sheets of high-strength fiberglass reinforcement, one more than Milwaukee's cut-off wheels, to handle the heavy face loading grinding puts on a wheel this size.
Milwaukee rates this metal line for up to 2X the life and rapid material removal versus standard competition, so each wheel grinds longer between changes and pulls metal down faster while staying smooth and controlled under a large grinder. The wheels grind carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys, and stand up to the heaviest ferrous work: thick plate and bar, large angle iron, pipe and structural sections, rebar, and big weldments. The aluminum oxide grain keeps biting into the metal as it wears instead of glazing, holding the removal rate deep into the life of the wheel, which is what makes the 7 in. size the production workhorse for fabrication shops, structural crews, and heavy maintenance running large grinders all day.
These wheels fit 7 in. angle grinders that use a 7/8 in. arbor, and Milwaukee rates them to a maximum of 8,600 RPM. Match the wheel diameter to your grinder's rated wheel size, and because this is a grinding wheel, work with the face for material removal and never use it as a cut-off wheel for edge cutting, just as a thin cut-off wheel should never be used for grinding; matching the wheel to the task is a safety requirement. Always confirm the maximum RPM printed on the wheel meets or exceeds your grinder's rated speed, and never run a wheel faster than the speed marked on it. Inspect each wheel for cracks or damage before use, keep the grinder guard in place, and wear appropriate eye and face protection when grinding. Supplied as a 10-pack, the 49-94-0533 keeps a full box on hand for the steady wheel consumption of heavy production grinding.
