This die cuts a 1/2-14 NPT thread, with 14 threads per inch, as a right-hand thread. Note that NPT sizes refer to nominal pipe size, not to the physical diameter of the thread: the 1/2 in this designation is the nominal pipe size, and the actual thread diameter is larger than 1/2 in., so this die is for threading pipe and pipe-sized stock, not for cutting a 1/2 in. fastener thread. It does not fit the Milwaukee Hex-LOK 2-in-1 Threading Handle, which accepts only the 1 in. hex dies, nor the 1-7/16 in. die stocks used for the mid-size dies, so this die requires a 2-1/16 in. die stock or an appropriately sized wrench.
