Product Description
Milwaukee SDS+ 1 in. x 10 in. Winged Chisel
Model Number: 48-62-6026
The Milwaukee 48-62-6026 is an SDS+ Winged Chisel with a 1 in. wide blade in 10 in. overall length — a specialty SDS+ demolition chisel designed for channel cutting, grooving, and making rectangular openings in concrete and masonry where the winged tip geometry creates a wider path than the blade body alone would produce. The winged tip extends laterally beyond the blade body width at the cutting tip, so each forward impact stroke cuts a channel slightly wider than the blade, reducing the side binding and wedging that occurs when standard flat chisels are used to cut grooves and channels — the wings clear the sidewalls of the channel ahead of the blade body, allowing the blade to advance through the cut more freely and with less lateral resistance than a non-winged chisel creates in the same application. Channel cutting for conduit embedding in concrete walls, groove cutting for surface-mounted box installation, and making the rectangular openings needed for device boxes flush-mounted in masonry all benefit from the winged chisel's reduced binding characteristics.
Milwaukee drop-forges this chisel from high-grade steel with heat-treated working areas for the structural integrity needed through sustained SDS+ impact loading in concrete and masonry cutting applications. The SDS+ shank provides positive anti-rotation locking in SDS+ rotary and combination hammers used in hammer-only mode for chiseling and channel-cutting work. The 10 in. overall length provides the standard working geometry for SDS+ chiseling operations, with adequate blade length for the channel depths required in surface conduit embedding and box flush installation work in masonry construction.
See Milwaukee's complete SDS+ chisel lineup for all available profiles — flat, bull point, scaling, and clay spade — for every concrete and masonry demolition and surface work application.
