The Milwaukee 48-62-4082 is an SDS Max Scaling Chisel with a 1-1/2 in. blade width for use with Milwaukee SDS Max demolition hammers in hammer-only mode — a heavy-duty scaling chisel for removing weld spatter from structural steel, mill scale from fabricated steel surfaces, concrete form overflow, mortar seepage from masonry joints, and other surface contaminants requiring mechanical impact removal at the energy levels that SDS Max demolition hammers deliver. The 1-1/2 in. blade width provides efficient surface coverage per hammer strike for productive scaling work while remaining appropriate for the energy levels of SDS Max demolition hammers — the blade width is matched to the impact energy available from the SDS Max platform for effective material removal without excessive bounce or blade rebound from oversized blade face area relative to the available driving force. Milwaukee drop-forges this chisel from high-grade steel with heat-treated working areas for the structural integrity and blade geometry retention needed through sustained SDS Max impact loading.
