Product Description
Milwaukee Flat Chisel 18 in.
Model Number: 48-62-2030
The Milwaukee 48-62-2030 is an 18 in. Flat Chisel for use with Milwaukee and compatible demolition hammers and rotary hammers in hammer-only mode — the extended-length version of the Milwaukee flat chisel for demolition, channeling, and surface preparation applications where the 18 in. working length provides deeper reach and greater clearance between the hammer body and the work surface than standard 12 in. chisels allow. The flat chisel profile distributes the hammer's impact energy across a broad blade face for controlled material removal in breaking concrete sections, cutting channels through block walls for conduit and pipe installations, removing concrete form overflow, and performing general surface cleaning on concrete structural elements. Drop-forged from high-grade cold chisel steel with heat-treated working areas, the Milwaukee flat chisel maintains its blade geometry through sustained repetitive high-energy impact work without premature tip deformation, edge rounding, or fracture failure at the blade face.
The 18 in. length is the extended specification required when working clearance between the hammer body and the work surface must be maximized — demolition work in tight wall cavities where the hammer must be positioned above the work, chipping on floors where the hammer operates horizontally away from the material, and surface preparation on overhead concrete where extra clearance between the hammer chuck and the surface is needed for proper stroke geometry. The hex shank provides positive anti-rotation locking in standard hex-shank demolition hammer tool holders, preventing the chisel from rotating in the chuck under the lateral forces generated by the flat blade's broad surface contact during chipping and channeling work. The extended length also provides the reaching capability for demolition behind other structural elements where shorter chisels would require repositioning the hammer into a less favorable angle.
Also available in 12 in. standard length (48-62-2020) and in SDS Max versions for SDS Max demolition hammers — see Milwaukee's complete demolition chisel lineup for all available profiles and lengths.
