The Milwaukee 48-44-0171 is the Right replacement Shear Blade for Milwaukee 18 gauge electric shear models 6850-20 and 6852-20 — the upper right blade of the scissor-action shear head that drives down against the sheet metal surface and pairs with the lower left blade to produce the clean, deformation-free cuts that electric shear cutting delivers. The right blade is the active cutting component driven by the shear's reciprocating mechanism — it advances against the lower left blade with the controlled overlap that produces the shear cut at the line while the lower left blade provides the opposing support and cutting edge that completes the cut cleanly without the sparks, heat, and rough edges of abrasive cutting or the corrugated channel of nibbler cutting. When the shear blade pair dulls from production sheet metal cutting, cut quality degrades requiring more force and producing less clean cut edges — replacement at this service point restores full cutting performance.
Milwaukee recommends replacing both the left and right shear blades simultaneously for complete restoration of the designed blade overlap geometry and cutting edge symmetry — replacing only one worn blade changes the blade clearance from the designed specification.
