The Milwaukee 48-25-5243 is a 2-1/4 in. Switchblade Self-Feed Bit Replacement Blade Kit — providing replacement cutting blades for the Milwaukee 2-1/4 in. Switchblade self-feeding wood boring bit in a convenient self-contained storage case with all the tools needed for field blade changes. Milwaukee's Switchblade bit system uses interchangeable cutting blade inserts that engage the bit body through a tool-free push-button release mechanism, enabling field blade replacement in approximately 10 seconds without additional tools — when the cutting blade dulls from drilling, the worn blade is ejected and a fresh replacement snapped in at the work location, restoring full drilling sharpness immediately without returning to the service vehicle or supply house. The Switchblade blade replacement approach fundamentally changes the economics of large-diameter flat boring bit use — rather than replacing an entire bit body when the cutting edge dulls, only the small blade insert is replaced at the far lower cost of the blade kit versus a complete bit replacement.
