The Milwaukee 48-20-7432 is an SDS+ rotary hammer drill bit in 1/4 in. diameter with a 6 in. working length and 8 in. overall length — the standard extended-length individual unit for the 1/4 in. anchor diameter providing additional working reach over the compact 4-1/2 in. overall configuration for through-wall CMU penetrations and longer concrete screw embedments. Milwaukee 44 Magnum SDS+ bits feature carbide vacuum-brazed to heat-treated steel shanks with optimized fluting for concrete drilling performance at the 1/4 in. small bore through the 6 in. working depth. The 8 in. overall length enables through-wall drilling in standard CMU block with light finish material, longer concrete screw anchor pilot holes where pull-out ratings require deeper embedment, and positions where the hammer must be held back from the drilling face due to ceiling clearance or adjacent structure preventing close-range positioning.
The 1/4 in. diameter is the standard pilot hole for light-duty concrete screw anchors and small expansion fasteners throughout commercial construction for ceiling conduit support, wall-mounted equipment, and general light structural fastening. The individual unit format is appropriate for single-bit replacement or for contractors who use this extended-length configuration for defined applications at lower frequency than bulk purchasing is practical for.
