Extension — the longer of the two standard PLUSLOK extension lengths, adding 18 in. of additional reach to Milwaukee SDS+ rotary hammers for drilling and chiseling in locations beyond the hammer's natural working reach. The PLUSLOK connector is built directly into the extension body as an integrated design rather than a separate coupling accessory, providing a compact connection profile and maintaining the SDS+ engagement geometry that ensures the extension-bit interface functions like a direct SDS+ bit connection in the hammer's chuck. At 18 in., this extension enables drilling through the deepest wood framing assemblies, multiple structural layers, and thick CMU block sections that the 12 in. PLUSLOK extension cannot reach, while still using standard-length SDS+ bits in the operator's existing bit inventory rather than requiring separate purchases of specialty long bits in every needed diameter.
The full 18 in. of added reach is most valuable for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC rough-in work where deep structural assemblies — triple-stacked framing members, built-up beams, heavy timber sections, and multi-layer floor systems — must be penetrated in a single drill setup from the accessible side.
