The Milwaukee 48-20-5035 is a 2 in. SDS+ Thin Wall Diamond Core Bit — a diamond core bit with SDS+ shank for direct use in Milwaukee SDS+ rotary hammers for 2 in. diameter core drilling through concrete and masonry without requiring a dedicated core drill machine. Milwaukee's SDS+ Thin Wall Core Bits integrate the diamond segment cutting technology of professional core drilling with the SDS+ shank interface, allowing 2 in. core holes to be drilled using the Milwaukee M18 battery platform's SDS+ rotary hammers that most contractors already carry in their tool inventory — eliminating the need for a separate core drill machine for occasional 2 in. core drilling applications where production volume doesn't justify dedicated core drill investment.
The thin wall barrel design minimizes the material removed per cut compared to thick wall core bit designs of the same nominal diameter, reducing drilling resistance and the power required per inch of depth for more efficient core drilling on the SDS+ rotary hammer's available torque and speed. The 2 in. diameter is used for 1-1/2 in. conduit sleeve installations, large plumbing drain penetrations, and mechanical penetrations where the 2 in. bore provides adequate clearance for the system being installed. Milwaukee's premium diamond segments provide the cutting speed and segment life performance needed for productive core drilling with this bit. Wet cutting is recommended for segment cooling and OSHA crystalline silica dust suppression.
