The 12 in. extension length doubles the drilling depth added by the shorter 6 in. extension (48-17-6014), making it the correct choice for the thicker concrete sections — deep foundations, thick structural walls, and multi-pour slab systems — where 6 in. of additional depth is insufficient for the complete through-penetration from the accessible drilling face.
