The Milwaukee 48-17-6012 is a 5/8 in.-11 threaded Core Bit Extension in 12 in. length — a precision extension shaft for Milwaukee core bits that mount on the 5/8 in.-11 thread standard used on smaller-diameter Milwaukee wet core bits and core drill adapters. The 5/8 in.-11 thread is the standard spindle interface for Milwaukee's smaller wet core bits and for the SDS+ thin wall core bit adapter systems, providing the 12 in. of additional barrel depth needed when the standard core bit barrel cannot complete a through-penetration from a single drill position. Adding 12 in. of extension to the 5/8 in.-11 core bit system enables through-penetrations in thick masonry walls, multi-layer concrete assemblies, and sections where the combined depth exceeds the base core bit barrel's working length from the accessible drilling face.
