The Milwaukee 48-13-1500 is a 1-1/2 in. x 6-1/2 in. Auger Bit — the largest standard Milwaukee auger bit at the 6-1/2 in. standard length for drilling the maximum standard bore through residential and light commercial wood framing members for large conduit clearance, major plumbing drain installations, and the structural bolt holes that require this maximum bore at single-member framing depth. The 1-1/2 in. diameter provides clearance for 1-1/4 in. rigid conduit, large flexible conduit systems, major plumbing rough-in pipes, and structural bolting applications that specify this maximum standard bore through wood framing. Milwaukee engineers the screw tip to advance the bit through wood under its own rotational force at this large diameter — the self-feeding advance is particularly important at 1-1/2 in. where the manual drill pressure required by non-self-feed bits would be taxing across the many large-bore holes of production rough-in work.
