The Milwaukee 48-03-3545 is an SDS+ Thin Wall Core Bit Adapter in 8 in. length for connecting Milwaukee thin wall diamond core bits to SDS+ rotary hammers for core drilling without a dedicated core drill machine. This adapter expands the Milwaukee M18 SDS+ rotary hammer's capability to include thin wall diamond core drilling at diameters compatible with the SDS+ platform's torque and speed characteristics, using the same battery-powered hammer already in most Milwaukee contractor inventories for other drilling work. The 8 in. adapter provides the base working extension for drilling through standard wall thicknesses and slab depths within the reach of the standard core bit barrel depth plus the 8 in. extension, and the more compact overall system length of the 8 in. compared to the 12 in. version is advantageous for working clearance in confined drilling positions and when the additional reach of the longer adapter is not needed for the specific penetration depth.
Milwaukee precision-machines both the SDS+ chuck interface and the thin wall core bit mounting interface for the concentricity needed to maintain accurate core hole diameter and consistent diamond segment wear throughout the adapter's service life. Eccentricity at either interface would translate directly to runout at the cutting face, compromising hole size accuracy and segment wear uniformity.
