Milwaukee Service Hub Assembly
Model Number: 43-78-0026
The Milwaukee 43-78-0026 is a genuine OEM Service Hub Assembly for the 6370 8 in. Metal Cutting Saw. The service hub assembly is the blade drive hub at the output of the saw: it is the geared spindle hub that the cutting blade mounts to, and it is driven by the gearcase pinion to turn the blade, transferring the saw's motor power through the gear train to the cut. It carries a gear and runs on bearings, so it is a core drive component held to tight tolerances. A worn, chipped, or damaged hub, or worn gear teeth, shows up as blade wobble, loss of power, roughness, or noise, so replacing it restores smooth, square blade rotation and full power transfer. Using the genuine Milwaukee OEM service hub assembly ensures the correct gear, bearing fit, and blade mount for this saw, where an off-spec hub can run out of true or fail to drive the blade correctly.
This hub is identified as the Service Hub Assembly, Figure 44, on the Milwaukee service parts lists for the 6370-59A 230V metal cutting saw, bulletin 55-40-1635, and the 6370-20 metal cutting saw (serials A35C and A35D), bulletin 54-40-1628. It installs into the gearcase, and Milwaukee's instructions call for placing a heavy coating of grease over and around all of the gear teeth of the service hub assembly, about 3 grams, and placing roughly 9 to 11 grams of grease into the gear cavity of the gearcase before installing it. Note that some serial versions of this saw use a different hub, the Hub Assembly 43-78-0025, so order by your exact catalog and serial number. Because Milwaukee specifies service parts by serial number as well as catalog number, verify your catalog and serial number against the official Milwaukee service parts diagram before ordering, since running production changes can alter part compatibility within the same catalog number.
