The miter lock handle is the handle at the front of the saw's table that locks the turntable at the chosen miter angle: the operator rotates the table to the cut angle, then turns the handle to clamp it so the table does not move during the cut. A firm, square lock is what keeps a miter cut accurate, so the handle has to clamp fully and hold under cutting load.
