The Milwaukee 40-50-0156 is a genuine OEM Switch Cover Spring for the 2736-20 M18 FUEL 8-1/4 in. Table Saw with ONE-KEY. This small spring, with a 0.9 mm wire diameter, is the return spring for the saw's switch cover: it holds the cover over the on-off switch and returns it to position after it is pressed, so the cover works smoothly and protects the switch from sawdust and accidental contact. Because the spring cycles every time the saw is turned on and off and sits in a dusty spot, it can weaken, fatigue, or break over time, at which point the switch cover no longer returns or holds position. Replacing it with the genuine Milwaukee OEM spring restores the correct return action and tension, where an off-spec spring may not fit the switch cover or provide the right force.
