The Milwaukee 28-06-6001 is a genuine OEM Base, the metal shoe or foot plate that the M18 FUEL jig saw rides on against the workpiece. It provides the flat reference surface that keeps the saw stable and square to the material during a cut, and it carries the bevel pivot that lets the shoe tilt for angled cuts, with positive detents at 0, 15, 30, and 45 degrees on these tools. Because it is the part in constant sliding contact with the work and takes the brunt of drops and edge wear, the base can become bent, gouged, or worn at the bevel detents over time, which shows up as wandering cuts, poor bevel accuracy, or scratching of finished surfaces. Replacing it with the OEM base restores a true, flat reference and crisp bevel detents, where an off-spec aftermarket shoe can sit proud, rock, or fail to lock at the marked angles.
