The Milwaukee 48-53-3813 is a Funnel Auger head attachment for Milwaukee 5/8 in. sectional cable, used with sectional drain cleaning machines to finish and clean out a drain line. In a typical drain cleaning job, a straight auger runs first to break up and open the clog; the funnel auger is then designed to clear the remnants the straight auger leaves behind, its funnel shape scooping up and pulling out the loosened debris for a cleaner pipe. The same funnel geometry also makes it a useful retrieval tool, able to catch and pull items that have been lost or dropped in the line back out. It is best used in 1-1/4 in. to 2 in. pipes, the common range for sink, tub, branch, and small-diameter drain lines, making it a go-to finishing and retrieval head for residential and light commercial drain work.
Built for the demanding, corrosive environment inside a drain, the funnel auger uses steel construction for the strength to work through packed lines, and Milwaukee's RUST GUARD plating reduces corrosion to give the head attachment a longer service life against the constant water and waste exposure that rusts out ordinary tools.
