The Milwaukee 49-94-7075 is a 7 in. x 1/8 in. x 5/8-11 in. Type 27 Grinding Wheel — a standard-thickness depressed-center grinding wheel for use with 7 in. angle grinders for surface grinding, weld dressing, and metal preparation on steel and ferrous metal in fabrication, maintenance, and heavy construction work. The 1/8 in. standard thickness profile provides the balance between grinding aggressiveness and wheel life for general-purpose 7 in. grinder applications — thinner than the 1/4 in. heavy-duty format for applications where lighter grinding pressure and faster wheel traversal are used, and more economical per wheel than the thicker format while still providing the abrasive mass for productive material removal in weld bead grinding, scale removal, and surface preparation work. The 7 in. large diameter provides significantly more coverage per pass than smaller grinder wheels, making the 7 in. format the most productive portable grinder specification for large-area surface preparation tasks.
Aluminum oxide abrasive is the standard specification for ferrous metal surface grinding. The Type 27 depressed-center profile allows the grinding face to contact flat work surfaces at the productive low approach angle while the wheel's center hub clears the work surface. The 5/8-11 threaded arbor bore fits standard 7 in. angle grinder spindles for direct mounting. Always inspect wheels for cracks before mounting, operate within the wheel's maximum rated RPM with the grinder's wheel guard installed, and use face shield and appropriate PPE during all grinding operations.
