The Milwaukee 49-94-7055 is a 7 in. x 1/8 in. x 5/8 in. Type 1 Masonry Cut-Off Wheel for use with 7 in. angle grinders — a silicon carbide abrasive cutting wheel for cutting concrete, brick, block, stone, tile, and other masonry materials in the large 7 in. grinder format for maximum cut depth and production cutting rate. Silicon carbide is the correct abrasive specification for masonry cutting applications — it provides the cutting action for the hard mineral surfaces of concrete and masonry where aluminum oxide abrasive used for metal cutting would load and glaze rapidly rather than cutting effectively through masonry material. The 7 in. large diameter provides the deepest cut depth of any standard portable grinder cut-off wheel for cutting through the thickest standard masonry sections in a single pass.
The 1/8 in. standard-thickness wheel balances cutting speed with abrasive mass for sustained masonry cutting work, and the Type 1 flat profile provides the standard cut-off geometry for straight perpendicular cuts through masonry and concrete.
