The Milwaukee 49-93-7235 is a 12 in. Asphalt and Green Concrete Segmented Diamond Saw Blade for use with 12 in. cut-off saws and walk-behind saws in asphalt cutting, green concrete cutting, and pavement work applications. Milwaukee engineers the segmented diamond blade for asphalt and green concrete with a segment bond formulation specifically calibrated for these soft, abrasive materials — different from the harder bonds used for fully cured concrete. Asphalt and green concrete are highly abrasive to diamond segment bonds but relatively soft in compressive strength, requiring a softer bond that wears at the rate needed to continuously expose fresh diamond cutting surface for productive cutting without the glazing that hard bonds experience when forced through these materials. Using a standard cured concrete blade in asphalt or green concrete causes rapid segment glazing and frustratingly slow cutting — the material-matched 49-93-7235 specification produces fast, efficient cutting in these materials throughout the blade's service life.
The 12 in. diameter is used with larger cut-off saws and walk-behind saws for deeper cuts and wider coverage than the 14 in. saw format's reach in applications where 12 in. equipment is the available platform on the job. Segmented rim geometry provides the debris clearance needed for the large chips and slurry generated during asphalt and green concrete cutting where solid and turbo rim designs would pack and slow cutting. Wet cutting is recommended when water is available to extend segment life and reduce dust in sustained pavement cutting operations.
