Product Description
Milwaukee 1-1/4 in. Carbide Tipped Hole Saw
Model Number: 49-56-1253
The Milwaukee 49-56-1253 is a 1-1/4 in. Carbide Tipped Hole Saw for cutting clean, accurate holes through tile, ceramic, porcelain, fiber cement siding, cast iron, stainless steel, and other hard or abrasive materials that bi-metal hole saws cannot cut effectively. The carbide tipping provides the cutting edge hardness and abrasion resistance that hard tile, cast iron, and fiber cement require for clean, productive cutting without the rapid tooth dulling that would end a standard bi-metal hole saw's useful life in the first few holes in these materials. The 1-1/4 in. diameter serves plumbing pipe stub-out holes in tile walls, small electrical conduit penetrations through tile and fiber cement, and structural access holes through cast iron or stainless steel components where the 1-1/4 in. bore matches the fitting or conduit system being installed.
Wet cutting with water for tile and ceramic applications reduces heat at the carbide tips and suppresses crystalline silica dust during tile cutting — water cooling is strongly recommended for sustained tile and ceramic hole sawing to maximize carbide life and control the dust generated during cutting. For fiber cement and cast iron applications, dry cutting is typical, but eye and respiratory protection are required for the dust and debris generated during cutting in these materials. The Milwaukee 1-1/4 in. carbide tipped hole saw provides clean, round hole cutouts in hard materials that require the reliable quality of a precisely sized hole for the fitting, valve, or device being installed through the cut opening.
See Milwaukee's complete carbide tipped hole saw lineup for all available diameters in the carbide specification and for the full range of bi-metal hole saws for wood and softer materials.
