Product Description
Milwaukee 1-1/8 in. Carbide Tipped Hole Saw
Model Number: 49-56-1123
The Milwaukee 49-56-1123 is a 1-1/8 in. Carbide Tipped Hole Saw for cutting clean holes through ceramic tile, porcelain tile, fiber cement, cast iron, stainless steel, and other hard or abrasive materials where standard bi-metal hole saw teeth cannot cut effectively. The carbide tipped teeth maintain sharp, aggressive cutting geometry through many holes in these hard materials where HSS and bi-metal teeth would dull in the first few cuts. The 1-1/8 in. diameter is used for small plumbing stub-outs through tile and fiber cement walls, specific conduit penetrations through hard surfaces, and small hardware mounting holes where this bore matches the fitting, pipe stub, or mounting hardware specification. For tile and ceramic, wet cutting with water is strongly recommended for carbide tip service life, thermal crack prevention, and OSHA crystalline silica dust suppression.
The carbide tipped specification is designed for the range of hard and abrasive materials that standard bi-metal hole saws cannot cut productively — not for standard wood and light metal applications where bi-metal hole saws provide better performance and economy. The hole saw mounts on a standard Milwaukee arbor for use with any corded or cordless drill, and the pilot bit provides the centering reference for accurate hole placement. Milwaukee's complete carbide tipped hole saw range covers 3/4 in. through 4-1/4 in. for all standard hard material penetration applications encountered in tile work, plumbing, and installation trade work.
See Milwaukee's complete carbide tipped and carbide grit hole saw lineup for all available sizes for hard and abrasive material hole sawing.
