The Milwaukee 49-40-6120 is a Cutting Shroud for Milwaukee 7 in. and 9 in. large angle grinders — an OSHA crystalline silica dust control accessory that attaches to the grinder's wheel guard to capture concrete and masonry dust at the point of generation during angle grinder cutting operations for vacuum extraction. When cutting concrete, masonry, brick, block, and other silica-containing materials with angle grinders, OSHA's Table 1 engineering controls require dust-generating tools to be used with an integrated water delivery system or a HEPA vacuum dust collection system to keep worker crystalline silica exposure below the Action Level and Permissible Exposure Limit. The cutting shroud provides the enclosed collection geometry that channels dust from the cutting zone into the vacuum connection point for capture before it can become airborne and create the inhalation hazard that crystalline silica exposure regulations are designed to prevent.
Compatible with specific Milwaukee 7 in. and 9 in. angle grinder models — verify compatibility with your specific grinder model and guard configuration before ordering, as the shroud is designed for the guard geometry of select Milwaukee large grinders and may not fit all 7 in. and 9 in. models.
