The Milwaukee 49-08-5383 is a genuine OEM Hammer Bit Grease for use in compatible Milwaukee SDS rotary hammers and demolition hammers. This specialized lubricant is formulated specifically to withstand the extreme conditions inside the SDS chuck interface — providing a protective film on the hammer bit shank that reduces metal-to-metal contact, prevents fretting wear on the SDS grooves, and protects against corrosion at the chuck interface under the high-impact loads and elevated temperatures of hammer drilling operation. Milwaukee specifies this grease for application to the SDS bit shank before insertion into the chuck, as well as for internal lubrication of the hammer mechanism during service.
