The Milwaukee 48-98-0010 is a genuine OEM 1/8 in. Nose Piece for the Milwaukee M12 Cordless Rivet Tool — the front-end component that provides the correct bore diameter for gripping and pulling the 1/8 in. rivet mandrel during the riveting cycle. The nose piece is the wear component of the rivet tool that makes direct contact with the rivet being set during each rivet installation — the nose piece bore must grip the rivet mandrel correctly for the tool to pull the mandrel through the rivet body with the force needed to expand the rivet shank and clamp the materials being joined. When the nose piece bore wears from the repeated mandrel contact of production riveting work, the mandrel grip becomes inconsistent, rivets may slip during setting, or the nose piece may not release the spent mandrel cleanly after the rivet sets.
