The Milwaukee 48-52-1305 is a 4 in. Bevel Knot Wire Brush in carbon steel for use with angle grinders — a specialty wire brush profile for cleaning, surface preparation, and material removal on curved surfaces, contoured shapes, inside angles, and areas where a flat wire wheel or standard cup brush cannot maintain full contact. The bevel configuration angles the knotted wire tufts outward from the brush face at a bevel angle rather than straight down — this angled geometry allows the wire tips to reach into inside corners, fillets, weld toes, and the curved junctions between surfaces where the straight wire face of a standard cup brush would bridge across the gap rather than conforming to the inside profile. Knot wire construction twists multiple wire strands together into tight cable knots before mounting in the brush body — providing concentrated, aggressive cleaning impact per contact point for cutting through heavy mill scale, weld spatter, rust, and surface contamination.
Carbon steel wire is the standard specification for cleaning and surface preparation on ferrous metal and carbon steel structures where iron contamination from the wire is not a concern for the application. The bevel knot brush is used in weld inspection preparation where the weld toe area and adjacent base metal must be completely cleaned without leaving scale or contamination that would interfere with visual or liquid penetrant inspection, in surface preparation before painting and coating where complete coverage of inside angles is required for coating adhesion, and in rust removal from structural steel where inside corners and profile junctions are the areas most resistant to surface preparation with flat abrasive tools. Always operate within the rated RPM and use appropriate face shield protection.
