The Milwaukee 48-44-0151 is the Center Shear Blade for Milwaukee 18 gauge electric shear models 6850-20 and 6852-20 — the lower center blade of the shear head that provides the stationary cutting surface against which the upper right blade shears sheet metal cleanly at the cut line. The center blade is the anvil component of the shear's scissor-action cutting system — it remains stationary while the upper blade drives down to shear the sheet metal between the two cutting edges at the designed overlap. The precision clearance between the upper and center blades determines the cut quality, burr formation, and edge deformation at the shear cut — correct blade-to-blade clearance produces the flat, clean-edged cuts that distinguish electric shear cutting from abrasive and nibbler cutting methods, while worn blades with degraded clearance produce increasing burr and edge roughness that require post-cut deburring for fitting and welding use.
Replace the center blade when cut quality degrades and increased burr or deformation appears at cut edges. Milwaukee recommends replacing all shear blades — center and both right and left — simultaneously for complete restoration of the designed blade clearance geometry.
