Product Description
Milwaukee Right Cutting Offset Aviation Snips
Model Number: 48-22-4522
The Milwaukee 48-22-4522 are Right Cutting Offset Aviation Snips — sheet metal cutting snips with an offset handle design that positions the blades lower than the handle plane for cutting across flat sheet metal while keeping the operator's knuckles clear of the work surface. Standard straight-handle aviation snips require the operator's knuckles to contact or come dangerously close to the sheet metal surface when cutting across a flat workpiece — the offset handle geometry raises the grip above the cutting plane, eliminating the knuckle-contact problem that makes sustained flat-sheet cutting uncomfortable and inefficient with non-offset snips. The right-cutting blade geometry is oriented for right-hand curved cuts and straight cuts where the scrap curls away to the right during cutting for unobstructed progress along the cut line.
Milwaukee builds the offset aviation snips with compound-action linkage that multiplies hand grip force into substantially more cutting force at the blades — reducing the hand effort per cut especially important in extended flat-sheet metal cutting sessions in HVAC fabrication, flashing installation, and sheet metal work. The blade steel and serration geometry maintain clean, accurate cuts through standard HVAC gauge sheet metal. Green color coding on Milwaukee aviation snips designates right-cutting, yellow straight-cutting, and red left-cutting for immediate identification during active sheet metal work. Left-cutting offset snips are available for the opposite directional cut orientation.
