Product Description
Milwaukee 9 in. Carbide Grit Sawzall Blade — 3 Pack
Model Number: 48-00-1430
The Milwaukee 48-00-1430 is a 3-pack of 9 in. Carbide Grit Sawzall reciprocating saw blades — specifically engineered for cutting ceramic tile, plaster, masonry, brick, cinder block, fiberglass, cement board, and other hard, abrasive non-metallic materials that would immediately destroy conventional bi-metal or high-carbon steel toothed Sawzall blades. Unlike standard reciprocating saw blades that rely on hardened steel teeth as the cutting mechanism, carbide grit blades use tungsten carbide abrasive particles bonded metallurgically along the full length of the blade's cutting edge — the carbide particles act as thousands of individual micro-cutting points that grind progressively through hard, brittle materials in a continuous abrasive cutting action rather than a tooth-by-tooth shearing action. Tungsten carbide's exceptional hardness — significantly harder than even the hardest tool steel — gives these blades the abrasion resistance to maintain cutting performance through masonry, tile, and fiberglass applications that wear standard blades to uselessness within seconds.
The 9 in. blade length provides the extended reach needed for deeper cuts through thick masonry walls, multi-layer tile installations, double-layer cement board, and thick plaster assemblies where shorter blades would limit depth of cut or cause the shoe to contact the work surface before the blade clears the material. The coarse grit specification maximizes material removal rate — coarser carbide grit cuts more aggressively and faster than fine grit, making it the right choice for demolition cutting, rough opening work, and material removal applications where cutting speed is the priority and cut edge quality is a secondary concern. The 3-pack format provides an economical supply for jobs requiring multiple blade changes due to wear or material variation throughout a project.
Also available in a 6 in. version (48-00-1420) for tighter cutting clearances and a 50-pack bulk format (48-01-6420) for high-volume masonry and tile removal contractors who use carbide grit blades as a regular production consumable.
