The Milwaukee 45-74-9215 is a Hook Hose Pick — a specialty automotive and mechanical service tool with a full hook-curve tip for removing O-rings, seals, and retaining clips from grooves where the hook geometry engages behind the seal for pulling it out of its groove rather than prying from the side. The full hook profile curves more than 90 degrees, allowing the tip to be inserted past the O-ring, turned to engage behind it, and then pulled back to extract the seal cleanly from deep grooves and tight-clearance O-ring positions where straight and angled picks cannot engage from behind the seal. This extraction method is especially valuable for O-rings that are recessed in blind grooves with minimal clearance for a side-approach pick — the hook tip can reach behind the O-ring where the groove walls prevent side-approach access.
