The Milwaukee 31-06-0036 is a genuine OEM Fixed Base Assembly for the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Compact Router (2723-20). The fixed base is the primary base that ships with the 2723-20 and houses the router's depth adjustment system — including the macro adjust mechanism with 1-1/2 in. of adjustable range and the fine adjustment screw for precise settings beyond 1/64 in. increments. The base clamp lever secures the motor unit at the set depth during operation, with clamping force adjusted via the base clamp screw. A cracked base body, damaged clamp lever, or worn clamping mechanism that no longer holds the motor unit securely at depth requires replacement to restore accurate, repeatable routing performance across edge forming, flush trimming, rabbeting, and laminate trimming applications.
Using a genuine Milwaukee OEM fixed base assembly ensures the correct motor unit fit, proper clamp lever geometry, and the precise depth adjustment interface engineered for the 2723-20 router console.
